When/Where did you graduate form teacher training?
I was trained under Bikram Coudhury in the spring of 2017 in Acapulco, Mexico.
Tell us something about you and your yoga journey to become a yoga instructor?
I have been active all my live in sports, at the gym and as a runner. I have run 6 marathons, karate and I have practiced fitness from my early teens. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in the spring of 2010. One day I accidentally walked into a Bikram yoga studio in my area during my period of cancer treatments in 2010. It was God sent!! After practicing Bikram yoga for 6 years I decided to share the wonderful journey that I have experienced with others.
Why do you love teaching?
I love that we are all in this together! I get to see how students are in different stages of yoga practice and yet we are all together time after time practicing for the same reason to improve our health! I am always excited to be a part of with so many dedicated student and it makes everything beautiful every time! I feel so blessed!
What is your favorite posture and why?
I have many favorite postures, but right now my favorite is the fixed firm pose, supta vajrasana. I have an old injury. I tore the meniscus tendon in my right knee. Daily practice of the fixed firm pose keeps me pain free.
How has yoga benefited you?
Yoga keeps me in shape not only physically but it gives me positive mental stimulation. If it were not for yoga, I don’t know if I would have made it through my cancer treatment. Yoga saved my life. It is priceless to me!
